Hiwi the kiwi show

Hiwi the kiwi show

At the Hiwi the Kiwi show the minstrel sang and talked to Ahipara school about fishing. He taught us to always bring a wet towel because fish are like humans, their scales protect them.  If we handle them, their scales will fall off and they will get sick and die when you put them back in the water.

Hiwi the kiwi said to always wear a life jacket on the water because if you have an accident and your boat sinks, you won’t die.

Hiwi the kiwi told us to bring take measuring tool when fishing because if the fish is big it might be pregnant and if you put her back her babies will have a chance to live.

The minstrel told us always bring salt ice so the fish will stay fresh for longer.

I learned that the big mum fish need to stay in the water so their babies can have a chance to live.
